By including participants from diverse backgrounds, such as self-taught individuals with a passion for sustainable design, this competition would benefit from varied and innovative perspectives. Ecology and creativity transcend academic and professional boundaries. Innovators in all fields have proven that they can make a significant contribution to large-scale projects, without formal training in design or architecture; many people around me find this restricted eligibility category distressing. I invite you to consider this amendment in order to enrich the proposals received and to extend the ecological and community impact of the competition.

We understand your disappointment, however this is a design and architecture competition requiring one person, the team representative, to be eligible in the fields of design and architecture. As noted in the competition document (section 8.1). Multidisciplinary teams are strongly encouraged, particularly through collaboration between designers from different disciplines or with the addition of people having special expertise such as engineering, eco-design, urban planning or social work.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
In France, a bachelor’s degree in multimedia visual communication doesn’t require a university diploma to work in graphic design and there’s no order or association in this field, as in Québec. The situation presented doesn’t reflect an employment or a professional relationship with a member of the jury, but rather a business relationship (whether active or inactive). However, when the proposal is submitted, the competitor’s name will be requested. The competitor may be a person or a group of persons; for better clarity, said competitor can also be a firm. When submitting the proposal, you will enter the “Name of the competitor as it will appear when the proposals are published”. However, in the descriptive table of Annex 1, it would appear that the triangular sections vary from 286.4 m² to 906.4 m² and that once dismantled each membrane’s sections would measure 10 m². Is it possible to know the dimensions of the triangular sections, before and after the dismantling? The same goes for the inner membrane.

The information contained in Annex 1 is accurate and up-to-date. Thus, the precise dimensions of the inner and outer membranes before dismantling are those shown in Annex 1.

Regarding the cutting of sections during dismantling, it is likely that the cut shapes vary (some of which may be of triangular shapes). As indicated in said Annex 1, it is currently planned that most cut membranes (both inner and outer) will each measure 10 m². However, larger membranes may be required depending on necessary reuse needs.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
Is there a maximum number of students in a team? The experience and guidance of our teacher will undoubtedly improve our team’s performance and contribute to our success in the competition. We therefore kindly request the consideration and approval of our proposal for advisory support.

Your teacher may support and guide you through proposal development and your team will still qualify for the student category.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
Can you please confirm that professionals with construction management degrees are eligible to participate? The Olympic Park does not utilize SketchUp.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
I have some doubts concerning the materials to be used in the work. Regardless of the current measures and sizes of the structural elements of the roof, we have to use the measures specified in the “post-disassembly details”; is that correct?

Yes, if possible, you should use the measurements specified in the “post-disassembly details”. The length indicated is 3282 meters, but after dismantling we see 6 meters x 540 units = 3240 meters. What are we to understand?

The calculation is correct, as 6 meters x 540 units is equal to 3240 meters. The difference between the two totals constitutes a potential loss in the dismantling process.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
In Annex 1, what does minimum/maximum mean on the line titled “length”?

The lengths of the current roof cables vary between 95.8 and 174.9 meters, but they will be reduced to only 6 meters after dismantling.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
I am wondering about the discrepancy between the specified cable lengths in Annex 1, the project prompt document vs. the actual dimensions of the CAD files of the cables; it indicates that the majority of the cables are 6 m in length (with some at 5.4 m and 5.6 m). The CAD files of the two different cable types show, however, a length closer to 2-3 m. Should we assume that the lengths in the document are more accurate or should we work with the shorter cable lengths provided in the CAD files?

IGES or SKP files provided are primarily for visual representation purposes. For precise measurements and specifications, please refer to the information outlined in Annex 1 at all times.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
Is it possible to obtain the exploded roof diagram (which must be positioned to the left of poster number 1) in a downloadable format and in a higher quality resolution than what is provided in Annex 1?

We don’t have a better resolution, unfortunately.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
Is there a font and a dimension (point) to respect, for the 400-word text required in poster number 1?

No. However, please use a clearly legible font and size as we will be printing the posters for the working sessions with the jury.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
Do the layouts of the 2 posters have to absolutely respect those illustrated in reference? Poster number 2 can be arranged differently and the number of images/diagrams/axonos/perspectives will depend on your choice. Poster number 1 may also contain other images/diagrams/axonos/perspectives, but make sure that the main representative image of the proposal (axono/perspective) is clearly visible and highlighted.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
Can I please request the sample PDF for posters number 1 and 2?

We do not provide a template for the PDF file. The layout of the images on the PDF posters is supplied only as an example and doesn’t need to be reproduced exactly.

</details>

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
Two community scopes appear in the “olympic roof reuse” document, Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and Hochelaga-Maisonneuve respectively: which one should we focus on?

The borough in which the Olympic Stadium is located is called Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve; the Stadium is situated in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) neighborhood.
